After a very positive feedback that followed the first reunion of the regional monitoring committee of the OSFACO project in February 2017 in Gabon, it was decided not to wait for a full year to meet again. The second reunion of the monitoring committee was held on Tuesday, the 24th of October 2017 in Cotonou, Benin, alongside the First Beninese Days of Geomatics Sciences and Technologies.
The representatives of the project beneficiary countries – Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Cameroon, Gabon, Central-African Republic, Congo and DRC – during this second session were able to share their own experiences of the project implementation. An extremely fruitful exchange took place around the different activities of the project such as the spreading of satellite images, advancement of research micro-projects or capacity-building actions.
This way of comparing the experiences of the beneficiary countries allows to identify very efficiently the ways of improvement, since the solutions introduced by some of them could turn out useful in case of eventual constraints met by the others.
This second session was much appreciated by the participants just like the first one and the organization of the next reunion has already been brought up!
