A workshop entitled “UGRF: The new Ugandan GNSS CORS network” was held in Jinja, in the south east of Uganda, on 24 May, in order to inform the project beneficiaries that the 12 permanent stations set up by the project are now operational, and that the website providing access to the various related services is now online.
More than 70 people, primarily local surveyors, ministry employees and users of GNSS data, attended the event where both demonstrations given by the representative of Leica and technical presentations by IGN FI concerning the installation and maintenance of a CORS system were shown, the various reference systems currently used in Uganda and the overall progress of the project.
