The Abidjan District Addressing Project (Projet d’Adressage du District d’Abidjan – PADA) has taken significant steps towards achieving a comprehensive addressing system and a unified reference system. These advances now guarantee the precise location and effective identification of occupancy units, whether houses, buildings or other structures, on the roads and public spaces of the District of Abidjan.
Over the period from November 2021 to October 2023, the PADA will have carried out 217,000 surveys. These surveys include the meticulous identification of access points to occupancy units, the precise calculation of GPS coordinates, the meticulous completion of forms via tablet devices, the detailed capture of photographs, and finally, the careful application of 146,000 stencils to materialise the numbering of constructions.

Planned to last 36 months, the Abidjan District Addressing Project (PADA) is a project of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Urban Planning of Côte d’Ivoire (MCLU). The aim is to make the addressing of streets and gates in the district of Abidjan operational and to set up a single autonomous addressing reference system for Abidjan. Carried out with funding from the World Bank, thanks to part of the PACOGA resources, the PADA is being executed by the IGN FI/ GEOFIT/ DEFIS ET STRATEGIES consortium.
