Today, on International Women’s Rights Day, we are proud to see that more and more women are getting involved and achieving success in traditionally male-dominated fields, particularly in the field of geographic information, which is becoming increasingly feminised. At IGN FI’s head office, for example, we have achieved parity between men and women, and on our projects we make a point of encouraging mixed teams and career paths!
The gender issue is also very present, particularly in rural certification projects where the number of land certificates awarded to women or vulnerable populations is a criterion for evaluating projects. This is the case, for example, in several land projects that have been completed or are currently underway, notably in Mozambique, Burundi and Madagascar.
We are proud, at our level, to be advancing this cause.
