allNext<\/a> \u2013 IGN FI was selected to conduct a study on the profiling of informal settlements in the Autonomous District of Abidjan as part of the Urban Sanitation and Resilience Project (PARU), funded by the World Bank on behalf of the Directorate of Addressing, Restructuring and Urban Renovation (DARRU) of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Urban Planning (MCLU).<\/p>\nThis study aims to profile informal settlements in the Autonomous District of Abidjan, identify operational solutions to improve the situation of these settlements, and prepare interventions in three neighborhoods of Abidjan.<\/p>\n
A cartographic production workshop was set up at the SIGFU center to carry out the first phase, where cartographers from the MCLU produced the necessary data. Our consortium conducted a detailed multidimensional inventory of these settlements using high-resolution urban data, generated as part of the SIGFU project, led by the Directorate of Modernization, IT, Simplification and Securing of Acts (DMISSA). This database made it possible to create an atlas of informal settlements at the District level and for each of the municipalities of the Autonomous District of Abidjan. <\/p>\n
Thanks to this inventory, the ministry has a precise mapping of the concerned neighborhoods with thematic maps, particularly on natural risks, the impact of easements, and the evolution of these neighborhoods since the 1992 inventory.
