The Abidjan District Addressing Project (PADA) is making significant progress towards the establishment of a comprehensive addressing system and a unified reference framework. These advancements now ensure precise location and efficient identification of occupancy units, whether houses, buildings, or other structures, on the public roads and spaces of the Abidjan District.
During the period from November 2021 to October 2023, PADA carried out considerable work with the completion of 217,000 surveys. These surveys encompass the meticulous identification of access points for occupancy units, the precise calculation of GPS coordinates, the careful completion of forms via tablet devices, the detailed capture of photographs, and finally, the diligent application of 146,000 markings to implement the numbering of buildings.

Scheduled for a duration of 36 months, the Abidjan District Addressing Project (PADA) is a project of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Urban Planning of Côte d’Ivoire (MCLU). Its purpose is to operationalize the addressing of streets and building entrances in the Abidjan district, as well as to establish a unique, autonomous addressing reference framework for Abidjan. Funded by the World Bank, thanks to a portion of PACOGA’s resources, PADA is executed by the consortium IGN FI/ GEOFIT/ DEFIS ET STRATEGIES.
