The Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation, Cheikh Tidiane Dièye, presented on Tuesday, June 11, in Kaolack, the results of the scientific study on flood zone mapping in Senegal. This mapping is an awareness-raising tool, aimed at improving knowledge of flood risk and reducing the vulnerability of territories to floods.
The Minister’s address took place within the framework of a special Regional Development Committee dedicated to flood management and prevention. This meeting brought together numerous representatives. The regional governor, Ousmane Kane, administrative and territorial authorities, regional department heads, grassroots community organizations, civil society organizations, among other opinion leaders, participated in this meeting.

The Integrated Flood Management Project, funded by the Green Climate Fund and the French Development Agency (AFD), is being carried out by the IGN FI/BRLi consortium.
